How time has flown- Where did summer go?

I can not believe that summer is basically. We have been having so much fun with swim lessons this year and playing soccer outside. Chance has grown so much over the past 6 months and I can really tell a huge difference in his developmental skills. Watching my child grow in front of me is one of the best things God has blessed me with.
Without a shadow of doubt my kid is going to be some athlete, he can not get enough of playing with either a soccer ball, basketball or throwing a baseball around. The giggles and laughter I hear I just cannot get enough of and sometimes I just want time to slow down and stop to remember these moments.
Chance is an excellent swimmer as well! This was our second summer doing swim lessons at the Y. It's a parent/child class so a good workout for mommy too! When we wrapped up the first session his swim instructor told me on the last day that even though his is not yet 3, she thinks he can be moved up to the next class. I am one proud mom of his swimming accomplishments. He had also been enjoying time at Grandma's (Marilyn's) house with her pool this summer which I really think boosts his confidence in the water. Hopefully by next summer I will be swimming right next to him.
Look at this talent
Chance's vocabulary has grown so much over the past few months as well. He was moved up in his class at school when a spot became available back in May and I have seen his brain working and turning after each day when he comes home. He counts well in both English and Spanish (he even helps count for me while I grin on the floor, doing my daily push ups.) His speech and comprehension to things amazes me, such a sponge brain! I wish that mine would do the same at times. I keep joking with Al that my fathers genes just skipped me and he gave them all to Chance.

A great and exciting time we are currently in is POTTY TRAINING, oh the joy! I never thought I could show such excitement when my child not only pees but poops in the pot. How this all transpired is Chance has 2 really good buddies at his daycare. Which his teachers over the past year have called them the 3 amigos. To advance to the next classroom you need to be fully potty trained. Well, about 3 weeks ago Chance's 2 friends were moved into that next class, and this has not made my kiddo to happy. We had some pretty bad daily reports come home for about the next week which got worse with each day, so Friday Al and I went to the daycare director to discuss what in the world was going on! To make a long story short, we think he was acting out since not being around his friends and potty training time was upon us. I'd say to date we are 80% there, hes got #1 down, but going #2 is just the worst possible thing to imagine. But it was finally accomplished this past Saturday. I think I was more excited than he was when it happened!!

I still cant believe we are coming to the close of yet another year. I started looking last night at birthday themes (yes, I know I'm about 3 1/2 months ahead of time) but this year has flown. It will also more than likely be the last birthday that Al and I get to decide on a theme.... decisions decisions. But nevertheless, I have a so much joy and excitement putting it all together for him. Holy smokes still can not believe he will be turning 3!
